Home Reading

Home reading books form school

Home reading should take no longer than 10-15 min per night, (unless your child wants to read longer).

The books that your child is sent home with are books they have read in class or chosen on their own from the library. Class books that are sent home can be books they have previously read with the teacher, a shared book from a different level (easier or harder).

Home reading is designed to:

  • Support your child’s reading at school
  • Extend their learning about the world around them, or open their eyes to a world of imagination
  • Encourage you child’s love of reading and set them up for success in reading across the school curriculum
